Digital Solutions ยท Guide 01

A wallet is useful only when the money remains useful.

Speed at the moment of receipt is important. So are the cost of getting money in, the places it can be spent, the price of turning it into cash, and the ability to recover access when something goes wrong.

The first test

Follow one payment through a normal week.

Imagine a customer pays into the wallet on Monday. Can the business pay a supplier from it on Tuesday? Can the owner withdraw a practical amount on Friday? Is an agent nearby, and what remains after every step?

A wallet can be fast and still be a poor fit if most transactions return to cash.

FundingA card, bank, or cash agent may charge before money enters the wallet.Check the funding method, not only the wallet fee.
ConversionThe exchange rate may include a margin even when the visible fee is low.Compare the quoted rate at the same time as other options.
ReceiptSome wallets receive international transfers only from selected partners or corridors.Confirm the exact sender country and payout route.
Use or withdrawalMerchant payment may be inexpensive while cash-out is not.Estimate how much must eventually become cash.
Failure or reversalA wrong number, frozen account, or failed transfer may take time to resolve.Check support and recovery before sending a large amount.

The applicable charges and protections vary by country, provider, funding method, and transaction route. Always check the current official terms and live quote.

01

Access

Confirm identity requirements, phone and SIM ownership, network reliability, language support, transaction limits, and local agent coverage.

02

Everyday use

List the payments the user actually makes: suppliers, rent, staff, transport, airtime, tax, or cash purchases. Count how many can remain digital.

03

Control

Understand who can approve payments, what notifications appear, how a mistaken transfer is handled, and how access is restored after a lost phone or SIM change.

04

Evidence

Check whether transaction history can be searched, downloaded, or matched to a sale. A useful wallet should make the business easier to understand.

Before relying on a wallet

Run a small, complete test.

Send a small amount through the intended corridor.

Record the funding charge and exchange rate.

Make one normal merchant or supplier payment.

Withdraw part of the balance and record the cash-out fee.

Locate official support and account-recovery instructions.
